Macver Knowledge Base is an independent blog launched in March 2025 by Bog. I like adding information to the internet, but sometimes there's information I want to add that doesn't really fit anywhere. That's why I created this site. I hope you find it helpful.

• The headers on this site use JetBrains Mono and the paragraphs use Inter.
• I designed and rendered all the branding images on this site.

Why is it called Macver?

When I first started in the world of self-hosting and Docker, I had everything running on my old 2019 MacBook Pro. When I decided to purchase a domain, I decided I wanted to give myself some flexibility and choose a name that was not linked to my username. I chose Macver because it's a portmanteau of MacBook server. I have long ago switched to a much more capable and reliable Ubuntu machine, but the name stuck around.

Is anything AI-generated?

Nothing originating from Macver Knowledge Base is AI-generated. However, keep the following in mind:
